World number 51 Maxime Cressy beat number 9 Holger Rune in the semi-finals in Montpellier - 7:5, 6:7 (3), 7:6 (4).
Cressy defeated an opponent from the top 10 for the second time in his career and for the first time since Wimbledon 2022 (he then passed No. 9 Felix Auger-Aliassime). The American broke a series of four defeats against opponents of this level (the overall score was 2:8).
